Frequently Asked Questions

What is Zakat?
Zakat, derived from the Arabic root "zakā – yazkū – zakātan" meaning growth, increase, and surplus, is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. It is a mandatory charitable contribution requiring Muslims to give a portion of their wealth that has reached specific thresholds (nisab and haul) to eligible recipients as defined by Islamic law. This system ensures economic balance in the Muslim community.
How do I select the best zakat authority from the available options?
Choose the zakat authority based on your workplace location. For example, if you work in Wilayah Persekutuan, select PPZ-MAIWP, and if you work in Selangor, choose LZS.
How do I pay Zakat using Digital Assets like Solana, Ethereum or Polygon?
Select your zakat authority, then choose either your Ethereum or Solana wallet to make the payment. Once connected, you can transfer the calculated zakat amount directly from your wallet. Currently for payment using cryptocurrency, we support ETH, SOL, and POL tokens.
Can I pay using Fiat?
Yes, you can pay using FPX (Financial Process Exchange), which allows you to make direct payments from your Malaysian bank account in MYR.
